Position Title: HIPPY Home Visitor
Location: Beaufort, SC Beaufort County First Steps office
Employment Type: Part-Time (15–25 hours/week) | School-Year Position
Compensation: $15–$18/hour, based on experience
Reports To: Executive Director and Program Coordinator
Position Overview:
Are you a parent or caregiver passionate about children’s education? Join the HIPPY team as a Home Visitor and help prepare local 3 and 4 -year-olds for school success—right in their own homes! This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who want to make a difference in their community through relationship-building and parent support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct weekly home visits with assigned families using the HIPPY curriculum
- Support parents in delivering 30-minute learning activities with their child
- Maintain accurate attendance, progress notes, and documentation
- Build trusting relationships with families from diverse backgrounds
- Attend weekly staff and team meetings, training sessions, and group parent meetings
- Help with community outreach and special events
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience as a parent, caregiver, or educator of young children
- Comfortable visiting homes and working independently
- Basic tech skills (email, text, Zoom, online forms)
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with the local community
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
- Previous participation in HIPPY or other home visiting programs
