Safe and Sound: Beaufort County First Step’s Car Seat Safety Workshop Delivers Fun and Vital Information

At our September parent meeting, Beaufort County First Steps took the safety of our little ones to heart with an engaging and informative session on car seat safety. Executive Director Betty Washington led the charge, guiding attendees through the ins and outs of car seat usage, from understanding the different stages to crucial safety tips every family with young children should know.

While the grown-ups dove into the world of car seat safety, the children were treated to a whirlwind of fun activities, including coloring sessions and the excitement of an interactive bubble machine! Adding to the informative lineup, Madie Orage Green from South Carolina DHEC joined us, offering essential health insights and even distributing giveaways, including free COVID tests to keep our families safe.

After an enriching session of learning and laughter, participants put their newfound knowledge to the test with a crossword puzzle based on the car seat safety training. And what better way to wrap up the evening than with a hearty dinner shared with loved ones?

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for this important event, contributing to a safer and healthier community for all!
