Spreading Joy Through Storytelling: Beaufort County First Steps and AmeriCorps Shine Bright During MLK Week of Service!

In a heartwarming display of compassion and community spirit, Beaufort County First Steps Board Chair Lynn Singleton took center stage as she captivated young hearts at the Child Enrichment Center at the Baptist Church of Beaufort during the 2024 MLK Week of Service. This special occasion marked a special collaboration between First Steps and AmeriCorps, as part of the Statewide Read-Aloud Collaboration.

The magic of storytelling soared to new heights as approximately 4,027 copies of the enchanting book “I’m (almost) Always Kind” were lovingly shared with students at a whopping 230 centers across the state! The lasting hope is that the joy of reading spreads like wildfire, touching the lives of countless children and igniting imaginations far and wide.
